Privacy Policy

• Account information: your full name, email address and password when you create an account. Accounts are provided by Supabase; your password is stored in hashed form by Supabase Auth and we cannot read it.
• Profile details you choose to add: phone number and a US shipping address, saved to your account so checkout is quicker.
• Order information: the products and quantities you buy, the order number and status, and the email, phone number and shipping address you give at checkout.
• Messages you send us through the contact page: the name, email and message you provide, used to reply to you.
• If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name and email address with us.

Payments are processed by Stripe Checkout. You enter your card details on a page hosted by Stripe; card numbers never reach this website or our servers and are not stored by us.

Stripe tells us whether a payment succeeded and sends the email, phone number and shipping address entered at checkout so we can fulfill your order. Stripe handles your payment data under its own privacy policy.

• Sign-in cookie: when you sign in, a session cookie from Supabase Auth keeps you signed in. It is needed for the account and checkout features.
• Cart: the contents of your cart (product codes and quantities, no personal details) are saved in your browser’s local storage so the cart survives a refresh. It stays on your device.
• Preferences: va_locale and va_theme remember your language and colour theme for one year. They hold no personal information.
• Home page video: the video plays from YouTube, in its privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube (Google) may store its own cookies or similar data on your device, under Google’s privacy policy.
• We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, this page will be updated first.

We use your information to run your account, take and deliver orders by USPS, confirm payment, answer your messages, and keep the store secure. We do not sell your personal information.

• Stripe, to process payments.
• Supabase, which hosts our database and sign-in service.
• Resend, which delivers our order and account emails.
• Anthropic, which generates the shopping assistant’s replies from the messages you type into it. The store does not keep these conversations, and they are not linked to your account.
• YouTube (Google), which plays the home page video when you press play, and then receives your IP address and browser details as any website you visit does.
• Our hosting provider, which serves the website.
• USPS, which receives the shipping address needed to deliver your order.
